This sheet sets out the facial exercise routine given to patients recovering from a lower motor neuron facial palsy. It is short by design: a routine that takes five minutes and is easy to remember is completed far more often than a long one, and consistency matters more here than volume.
Work in front of a mirror so you can see which side is lagging, and move slowly rather than forcing a movement.
Protect the eye on the weak side. If it will not close fully, ask about eye care before starting.
